The Washington Redskins have been a complete disaster this season and after Mike Shanahan made the controversial decision to sit quarterback Robert Griffin III, new reports have come out about RG3 and his father and how they have irked Shanahan and that Griffin's dad wants his former coach from Baylor Art Briles to take over next season.

According to SI.com, the story is detailed in a Bleacher Report article by Jason Cole that details some issues between the quarterback and the coaching staff as well as issues involving RGIII's father. The report says that Griffin is a hard player to coach and has attitude problems, which has been a factor for the team this season and it also describes Griffin's father lobbying to owner Dan Snyder to bring in Briles, who helped lead Griffin to the Heisman Trophy in his last year in college.

The knives have come out all season for the Redskins, as there have been reports of distrust between Shanahan and Snyder as well as issues about the relationships between Snyder, Griffin and Shanahan and now with the season coming to a close and Kirk Cousins starting, a showdown could be looming. Shanahan has another year on his contract and it's worth $7 million and he likely will not quite because of that, while the Redskins do not want to have to pay all that money. Reports say that the team could explore legal options to try and get out of the deal and Shanahan likely will want to stay so he can collect that money that he is owed.

The report has multiple sources in it and says that Griffin's father is an issue for the team and that it has affected the way Griffin has been handled and how Griffin has played this season. The report also details a moment when Griffin brushed off some coaching from his quarterbacks coach after he suggested that his footwork was off on a certain play and no offense to Griffin, it plays into all the issues that have surrounded him, as he reportedly said "I just have to make that throw" and did not say it was the footwork. This is an opinion, but Griffin has always had this attitude or air around him that he knows better than everyone else and that he is above things and this plays into that as well.

Griffin was anointed the future of the NFL last season and the Redskins were looked at as easy NFC East champions, but they have been terrible this season and the reports about the poor leadership of Griffin clearly are not ridiculous. This has nothing to do with Griffin as a player, but witch him in news conferences and when he is talking to reporters; it's not exactly an attitude, but there is something about him that rubs the wrong way when it comes to other quarterbacks and he also has an issue of not taking blame, saying "WE" way too much when as the quarterback he should be saying "ME", even if it's not his fault.
