The New Orleans Pelicans have been one of the most active teams this offseason and after making trades for both Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holiday, the franchise feels that it has the chance for a quick turnaround to get back to the playoffs.

According to ESPN.com, the team signed both Anthony Morrow and Greg Stiemsma to contracts following the trades for Holiday and Evans and now the team has some depth after dealing away Robin Lopez to the Blazers. Eric Gordon and Austin Rivers will play with Morrow and all three should get solid playing time as the team tries to improve from last year.

The Pelicans also added some more size after losing Lopez, signing Stiemsma away from the Timberwolves to give more rebounding and defense down low. Last season he played well in spots for the Wolves and he shot 45 percent last season after shooting 54 percent with the Boston Celtics and he now joins on a one-year deal worth $2.7 million.

Morrow averaged 4.0 points last season with the Hawks and Mavericks and he will add some solid scoring off the bench after the 27-year-old spent time with the Warriors and Nets previously. His biggest strength will be from long range and he will give some depth for the Pelicans as well.
