The funeral of Odin Lloyd took place on Saturday in Boston two weeks after he was killed and now some reports have come out that link his murder with a fight and double murder that may involve Aaron Hernandez from last summer.
Lloyd's sister Olivia Thibou spoke with the local news media about her brother, saying that he was a respectful, funny and excellent athlete that won trophies in school. Lloyd was playing linebacker for the semi-pro Boston Bandits at the time of his death and he also worked in landscaping and was considered a class clown in his younger days. Hernandez was linked to the murder through his girlfriend, as Lloyd was dating her sister and also for the fact that the body was found less than a mile from where Hernandez lived.
Some reports have started to come out from ABC News and the Boston Globe that link a double murder in Boston last year to Hernandez, as well as to the murder of Lloyd.The reports say that the murder of Lloyd could be directly tied to the shooting, as Lloyd may have known about the previous murders and Hernandez was trying to keep that quiet. In court, lawyers presented details about the evidence against Hernandez, including text messages, video surveillance and location of the former NFL tight end. Lawyers also said that Hernandez may have killed Lloyd in retaliation for him disrespecting him and talking to the wrong people at a club.
The reports say that Hernandez was at Club Cure in Boston the night of the murder of Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado and that he also may have been in a fight with their group at the club. Hernandez is now facing life in prison for the murder of Lloyd and he was released by the Patriots despite signing a $40 million contract and now the team may have some salary cap issues. The tight end was one of the young stars of the team and was looked at as the future, but now his NFL career is likely over.
Hernandez made 175 catches for nearly 2,000 yards and 18 touchdowns over his three seasons with the team and he was linked to Hernandez through his girlfriend, who was the sister of Hernandez's fiance. Lloyd's body was found a mile from Hernandez's home and he is being tied to the case through shell casings and other evidence.
