One day after releasing quarterback Tim Tebow, New York Jets coach Rex Ryan admitted that the team did not use him in a way that both parties would be benefit, according to the New York Daily News.

"When you look at it with the advantage of hindsight, it wasn't a good situation for Tim, it wasn't a good situation for the Jets," said Ryan on ESPN Radio.

"I thought we were going to use him in a multiple of ways, that quite honestly, it really just didn't work out," the coach added. "We really didn't take advantage, in my opinion, of his skill set. That's nobody's fault, ultimately it's my fault."

Ryan said when the Jets first acquired Tebow it was expected to use him in "multiple" ways, including as a fullback occasionally, but of course things didn't pan out that way.

Ryan maintained that Tebow was given a chance to compete but because of some outside circumstances that led to circumstances where he wasn't given a chance to start at quarterback.
