After news broke out last month that former NFL standout Kordell Stewart was filing for a divorce from his "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star wife Porsha Stewart, new rumors today suggest that the entire thing was all just a big shame in order to keep the two featured on the reality show.
According to Mediatakeout.com, an "impeccable source" close to the Stewarts claims that the two never really planned on getting a divorce and that it was a publicity stunt in order to keep Porsha as a co-star on the show.
The insider claimed that "Porsha found out that she was NOT going to come back on the show - and both her and her husband [Kordell] desperately wanted to stay on the Housewives."
The insider continued, "So they figured if they created a FAKE DIVORCE, like NeNe did - it would be enough drama for them to be asked back."
Mediatakeout confirmed the insider's claims by reaching out to a Bravo executive who admitted to Porsha being officially dropped from the cast, but once Kordell filed for divorce, the two were both asked to be a part of the show.
Stewart, who filed for divorce about a month ago, claimed that his marriage with Porsha Williams is "irretrievably broken" and the two are separated.
He was asking that the courts finds that there are no marital assets to be divided and that Williams is "An able-bodied person, earning income, and is capable of supporting herself." He is requesting that neither side be forced to have to pay alimony.
During that time, the Huffington Post was reporting that an insider for Wetpaint Entertainment has claimed that Stewart has been hinting at a split during the season.
"The show highlighted their marriage in a big way," a source told Wetpaint. "And with their first season now over, a lot of people were asking him how he and Porsha were doing. The phrase he kept using was, 'It's a wrap!' I thought he had meant it in terms of them being wrapped up with filming - but I now realize he was actually talking about their marriage."
"Porsha's got to be devastated," the insider added. "Her whole identity is about being Kordell's partner, and I know she really wanted to start a family with him. They were actively trying. This is going to be a huge blow."
