Dan Marino made news early last month after it was revealed he had an affair and love child with a CBS employee and now the Miami Dolphins Hall of Fame quarterback is back in the headlines again, but for a much "healthier" reason, as he is set to speak at a nutrition center about how to live a healthier lifestyle
According to PRNewswire.com, Marino is set to speak on Friday to help start off the Life Extension Nutrition Center Healthy Living Fair in Fort Lauderdale, where he will speak about living life in healthier ways when it comes to food and nutrition. The release says that he will speak from 7-8 p.m., primarily regarding his involvement in making a line of dietary supplements.
All people that attend the show will get free autographed Hall of Fame cards and the entire fair will run throughout the week until Saturday. Marino will be offering a range of products at a discount for people that attend and there will also be free samples.
The news about the appearance is much more positive than the headlines he made just before the Super Bowl, when it was revealed that Marino had a secret love child with former CBS employee Donna Savattere. Marino's story never went public until the news report came out and he performed his Super Bowl media duties after it all was revealed.
Marino was also mocked for the scandal during "Saturday Night Live" in the episode that aired after the Super Bowl. At the time of the scandal, Marino said that he and his wife celebrated their 28-year wedding anniversary on and that they "continue to be a strong and loving family. My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and have six children together. And we continue to be a strong and loving family."
Marino paid Savattere millions over that time to take care of the child and to keep the story under wraps. Marino released a statement that said: "We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved."
Marino is considered to be one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history and he was all time leader in passing yards in a single season before Drew Brees broke the record last year. He has compiled some amazing stats over his career, but he never won the ultimate prize of the Super Bowl.
A few weeks after the scandal broke Savattere and the child Chloe were spotted by reports in London, where she was with her husband Nahill Younis. She lives with Younis in a $3.4 million, five-bedroom house they own in the posh Wandsworth neighborhood. She later had bushes built ay the house to help keep the media out.
