The Jaguars will be able to expand their talented youthful core in this draft as they look to build a roster that can compete for a playoff spot.

The Jaguars saw an offensive explosion this season as both Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns had stellar seasons. TJ Yeldon also saw a ton of production; it was on the defensive side of the ball that the Jaguars struggled. The Jaguars secondary failed to live up to expectations even with new 2015 free agent acquisition Davon House racking up 4 interceptions and 60 combined tackles.

The Jaguars must focus on their defense heading into 2016 and they are in a great position to do it as we get closer to the NFL Draft. Jacksonville needs a quality corner to help take some of the pressure off of House, and with Mackensie Alexander and Vernon Hargreaves III likely available either corner would make a solid choice.

The Jaguars will also have their eye on free safety Jalen Ramsey who is the best defensive back in the 2016 draft class. It has been speculated wildly that Ramsey will be drafted by the Dallas Cowboys however if he is still on the board at number 5 he will likely become the Jaguars draft selection.

The Jaguars could also use a quality outside linebacker but with Myles Jack unable to fully participate in the combine, Jacksonville's safest choice might be a defensive back. The Jaguars must have a very solid draft to continue their push towards playoff contention.
