Manchester United Transfer News: Robert Lewandowski Set for United Move; Ogbonna Plays Down Old Trafford Reports

Robert Lewandowski is on his way to Manchester United at the end of the season.

According to an exclusive in the Daily Mail, the Borussia Dortmund striker has made his intentions clear on leaving the German champions after this season, with a potential deal with United already in the pipeline.

Lewandowski is regarded as one of the best striker in Europe and it is believed Dortmund have resigned themselves to letting their striker go, after the Polish international stalled on signing a new contract. His current deal ends in 2014.

The fact that there will only be one year on his contract after this season ends, means United will be able to buy him on the cheap, believed to be around the same amount that they shelled out for Shinji Kagawa, who also had only a year remaining on his contract with Dortmund when he made the move.

The report suggests Ferguson is keen on pairing Lewandowski with Robin Van Persie, with Wayne Rooney moved into a deeper role, a style which he has adapted to reasonably well this season.

However, with United already having Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck in their books, it remains to be seen how it will all pan out. The arrival of Lewandowski will surely mean the axe for one, if not both the strikers.

Meanwhile, United target Angelo Ogbonna has played down suggestions of a possible move to the English Premier League. The Torino central defender has been watched by United scouts extensively this season, with a move in January or next summer reported.

However, the Italian international said he is not thinking of a move just yet, and wants to concentrate on his career with Torino.

"I am in Turin -- where else should I go? My agent has not called me about anything and we all know rumors go on this time of year," he said.
