The Cleveland Cavaliers may consider making trades at the deadline this year and players like Jared Dudley, Tyreke Evans, Omer Asik, Kyle Korver and Markieff Morris could be potential targets.
The Cavaliers have trade exceptions to use this season and while the team is first in the eastern conference, the roster could use some upgrades. Brian Windhorst at ESPN reports that the team is interested in adding wing depth at the deadline and players like Jared Dudley, Kyle Korver and Tyreke Evans could be potential options. Windhorst was on ESPN Cleveland and said that the Cavaliers could be interested in Korver if the Hawks look at trading the guard.
Windhorst said that the Hawks could be "selling off pieces" and that the Cavs have "interest" in Korver. Windhorst also added that the team has Evans and Omer Asik on the "radar" along with Jared Dudley. Windhorst said on ESPN Cleveland that the team would "love to get their hands on Jared Dudley" and that the Cavs "kicked around" the idea of trading for Dudley over the summer. Windhorst also said that the team could shop Anderson Varejao, but there is not much interest in him on the market.
The Wizards have struggled a bit this season and they are just outside of playoff contention in the standings and could consider selling at the deadline. Pro Basketball Talk writes that the Cavs can absorb Dudley's salary with their trade exception, but that they may not have pieces that Washington is looking to acquire. Timofey Mozgov has come up as a potential trade option for the Cavs to move, as he is heading towards free agency and may not be re-signed.
