Jon Beason #52 of the New York Giants waves to the crowd after defeating the Washington Redskins at MetLife Stadium on December 29, 2013 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Giants defeated the Redskins 20-6. "

New York Giants linebacker Jon Beason would love to remain in the Big Apple for as long as possible however Beason has missed 23 games over the last 2 seasons thanks to injuries.

Injuries have followed Beason from his time with the Carolina Panthers where he went to 3 Pro Bowls to his current stint with the Giants. Beason will need to have surgery on his knee which puts his future with the Giants up in the air.

Beason has been called one of the worst signings ever under Jerry Reese's watch and there is a simple answer why really, injuries. Beason missed 27 games from 2011-2012, played in 12 games with the Giants who immediately extended his contract in 2013. Then he immediately went on to miss 23 games between 2014-15.

Beason is waiting to see how his knee responds to surgery before he makes any definitive decisions on his future. He currently has a cap hit a little under $6 million which means he could be a candidate for release if the Giants are trying to attract any high profile free agents. Beason has stated he will make his decision on whether he would like to continue his NFL career when he knows if he can play 100 percent.
