The Dallas Cowboys could consider adding Johnny Manziel as a backup for Tony Romo next season, as the quarterback likely is done in Cleveland. Browns head coach Hue Jackson has said the team needs a new quarterback and reports have the Browns potentially looking to trade or release Manziel this offseason.

The Cowboys are in the market for a backup quarterback, as that was a glaring weakness on the team last season. Tony Romo went down with an injury and the team turned to Brandon Weeden, Matt Cassel and Kellen Moore to handle things and the team ended up 4-12 on the season. Thad the Cowboys had a better option to turn to behind Romo, there is a good chance they would have stayed in the playoff race longer. According to Pro Football Talk, Jerry Jones told the media he would not be opposed to taking "some risk" with a young quarterback behind Romo.

Jones did not mention any quarterbacks by name, but Pro Football Talk writes that Robert Griffin III and Johnny Manziel could fit the bill for that description. PFT writes that Jones has long been enamored with Manziel and wanted to draft him back when the Cowboys had the chance to do it. Griffin is expected to get released by the Redskins this offseason and could be a potential target for the team, while Manziel looks like he is done in Cleveland with Jackson coming in.

FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo reports that Jackson coming in likely means "the end" for Manziel with the Browns and the team could explore a trade with the quarterback. Charles Robinson at Yahoo Sports reported earlier in the month that sources said that Manziel would "love" to play for the Cowboys and that is where he wants to end up. Robinson also writes that Griffin wouldn't mind ending up in Dallas if he has the chance to sign there.

The Cowboys have the number four pick in the draft and players like Joey Bosa, Laremy Tunsil and Laquon Treadwell could be potential targets. Dez Bryant had surgery on his ankle and foot after dealing with injuries this past season and that could lead the Cowboys to consider Treadwell as an option. The team is going to get a top prospect at the pick and players like Bosa or Treadwell could be solid fits.

The Cowboys could consider Bosa as an option if he falls to four, as the team is likely not bringing back Greg Hardy this season. According to the Dallas Morning News, Hardy had "perpetual tardiness" this season and that caused many players to "sour" on him late in the season, including ones that previously supported him. Hardy helped the Cowboys pass rush, which was in dire need of some help this season, but his off the field issues and lateness likely will keep him from coming back.
