The NY Giants suffered a tough loss in Week 16 and that could lead to Tom Coughlin getting fired after the season. Eli Manning and other players have expressed support for Coughlin, but after missing the playoffs again, the Giants may make a move with the head coach.

The Giants have been in a number of close games this season, but they could not finish them off and that could be one of the main reasons why the team makes a move with Coughlin. The Giants were blown out in Week 16 after being eliminated from playoff contention and that effortless performance did not look good on the coaching staff either. According to Newsday, Coughlin said in a conference call that he does not want his players thinking about his future and that things will take care of themselves.

The team likely will make an announcement after the season about what they will do for next year and if Coughlin is out, it could mean some major changes for the Giants. Many Giants players spoke up in support of Coughlin after the loss, including Eli Manning, Justin Pugh and Mark Herzlich. Eli Manning has only played for Coughlin in his career and the two have won Super Bowl titles together. There is a chance Coughlin could retire and take the decision out of the Giants' hands, but that doesn't seem to be his style.

The Giants at least will have Odell Beckham back in Week 17 after the wideout served a one game suspension last week against the Vikings. It was clear that the Giants offense was totally out of sync without Beckham and getting him back could help the team finish the season strong. Beckham has 91 catches for 1396 yards and 13 touchdowns this season and with one more catch he will set a new career high for receptions. Beckham has already bested his numbers in yards and TDs from last season.

The Giants also placed Devon Kennard on injured reserve after the linebacker dealt with foot and hamstring injuries earlier in the season. According to Pro Football Talk, the linebacker was placed on IR and has not played since Week 12 of the season. Kennard missed time earlier in the year and he finished the season with 58 tackles and showed some potential for the team before he went down. The team is hoping he can get healthy and stay that way for next season. The move also allows the team to put Beckham back on the active roster.
