Carolina Panthers

Cam Newton (Quarterback): In such a favorable matchup and on such a ridiculous tear how the Atlanta Falcons could be the team to bring Newton and the Panthers to their knees is beyond me. This was an upset no one could have predicted.  The Falcons kept Newton off the field long enough for him to really not be a consistent factor. This limited Newton's production significantly as he did not even throw for 200 yards. Newton completed 17 of 30 passing attempts for 142 passing yards. He also had 7 carries which gained him 46 yards and a touchdown. Newton should be a better option against the Seahawks since they will be playing for home field advantage.

Greg Olsen (Tight End): Olsen was largely invisible this week and it was his worst fantasy output since week 4. Olsen only caught 4 of 6 targets for 40 yards. Olsen had a couple of big plays called back and realistically was just somewhat unlucky this week and so were his fantasy owners.

Atlanta Falcons

Julio Jones (Wide Receiver): Jones delivered big time for fantasy owners. He recorded 178 yards receiving which is absolutely monstrous. He caught 9 of his 11 targets for 178 yards and a touchdown. Currently Jones is having the best season of any Falcons receiver of all time. He absolutely abused Luke Kuechly and Kurt Coleman for his big plays but Josh Norman did hold him to 51 yards while he was matched up with him.

Devonta Freeman (Running Back): Freeman had another good game this week as he reminded fantasy owners of why they picked up him up in the first place. Freeman had 22 rushing attempts that gained 73 yards and a touchdown. He also caught 3 of his 5 targets for 17 yards. Freeman was utilized to manipulate the clock and that's exactly what the Falcons did control the ball for most of the game.
