Detroit Lions

Calvin Johnson (Wide Receiver): Johnson is going up against a tough Rams defense that saw some of it's key components get dinged up in week 13. Johnson on the other hand is surging and continues to make a big impact in each game. Johnson has 4 touchdown catches in his last 2 games. He is going up against a defense that has allowed the third fewest fantasy points to wide receivers all season long. If the Rams offense cannot sync up with their defense and give them a healthy amount of time to rest and recover these Rams defensive backs will be tired and Megatron will take advantage.

St. Louis Rams

Todd Gurley (Running Back): Gurley has been a nightmare as the Rams are beginning to collapse like a dying star. Gurley is facing a team that has allowed the 13th fewest fantasy points to running backs and has only looked better as the season has worn on. Gurley has only 9 carries in the last two weeks and it is because of the lack of a passing game in St. Louis. With no clear threat coming from either wide receivers or a competent quarterback defenses are continually stacking the box against Gurley, making his day very difficult.

Tavon Austin (Wide Receiver): Austin should have a good matchup in the air as the Lions have given up the 17th most fantasy points to wide receivers. Austin is not your traditional wide receiver he is more of a gadget player who can run the ball as well as run passing routes. He has put up better fantasy numbers when this offense struggles likely because he gets more rushes and the Rams are forced to make him the center piece of a play.
