The Miami Dolphins are not having the season they intended on this year and now frustrations are beginning to run high. The team might have won their recent game against the Baltimore Ravens, but the 15-13 score was not pleasing to anyone. During a rough stretch from the offense, Jarvis Landry displayed his frustrations on the sideline as the team is in need of getting back on track with a game against the New York Giants approaching.
According to the Miami Herald, Landry threw a fit on the sidelines during the game against the Ravens after four failed possessions. The receiver went off to the sidelines and slammed his helmet onto the bench. That is certainly understandable when a team manages just 82 passing yards in an entire game. Landry had just two catches for five yards which was a season low for him. According to head coach Dan Campbell, the team was more committed to getting the run game going against the Ravens then passing the ball and he is not worried about the lack of production from Tannehill.
"Not after yesterday," Campbell said, via the Miami Herald. "I know what we need to do. I knew that that type of game was the one that we needed to win that game. I was very confident in our defense, and they played the way that I thought they would play. And offensively we did what we had to do. Certainly most games if you're throwing for [82] yards you're hoping you get three touchdowns out of those [82]. But we'll be better in the pass game. And we'll complement the run game much better than we did yesterday."
Landry was not available to the media following the outburst on the sidelines as the Dolphins need to keep their leading receiver involved. One good thing that came from Sunday's win was the improvement from DeVante Parker who recorded his second touchdown in two games. The touchdown to the rookie was one of the lone bright spots for the team against the Ravens as Parker is emerging as a real threat moving forward.
"Just coming back from injury, it took me a little while to get back to myself with the foot," Parker said, via ESPN.com. "Now I feel pretty comfortable with it."
With Rishard Matthews heading into free agency, the rise of Parker is a positive sign for the future. However, if the team is only getting 82 passing yards than it does not really matter. According to Omar Kelly of the Miami Sun Sentinel, Tannehill is what will keep the Dolphins from improving. The quarterback has struggled all season, but with his contract he will be around for at least the next two seasons. It does not matter how well Parker or Landry play if he is struggling.
