Colts vs. Jaguars Predictions: Thursday Night Football, Andrew Luck Will Win It

Nov 08, 2012 04:10 PM EST

The Indianapolis Colts face the Jacksonville Jaguars in their second matchup of the season as these AFC South rivals go head-to-head.

Though the Jaguars defeated the Colts in the first game of the season, the Colts certainly have the edge coming into this Thursday Night Football matchup.

They are winners of three straight, they are playing with motivation as their head coach Chuck Pagano recovers from cancer and their rookie quarterback is motivating them day after day to become better and better with his play on the field.

The Colts defeated the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins in the past three weeks. All victories have been by less than six points, proving the Colts, though young, can play in tight situations.

The Jaguars are 1-7 coming into this matchup and their only victory came in the closing seconds of Week 3 against these Colts. Since this game, the Jags have lost five straight games.

Their offense is painful to watch as they are averaging the least points, total yards and passing yards in the NFL. They are 28th in rushing, 26th in points allowed, 27th in total yards, 25th in passing yards and 27th in rushing yards allowed on defense.

By the looks of it, the Colts have the clear edge.

And don't look now, the Colts are in the Wild Card picture in the AFC as they are one of few teams in the conference over .500. Their 5-3 record ties them with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the first place Wild Card spot.

Andrew Luck is coming off a record setting performance, passing for 433 yards, the most in a game by a rookie quarterback.

Score Predictions: Look for another 300-plus passing performance by Luck. Colts win 27-19.
