CJ Anderson is not having the season everyone expected of him. The Denver Broncos released Montee Ball on the hope that Anderson would repeat the success of last year. However, that has not been happening and the Denver Broncos' offense has been struggling as a result. The team might be undefeated but it is in no thanks to the run game as Anderson admits he has not been fully healthy all year.

Anderson has been averaging 2.7 yards per carry this season which caused him to lose his starting job to Ronnie Hillman. According to the running back, his early season struggles have been because he simply has not been healthy all year and the bye week was a chance to fix all of that. The Denver Broncos are preparing to face the Green Bay Packers in Week 8 and a healthy and productive Anderson would certainly be welcomed by quarterback Peyton Manning.

"I wasn't as healthy as I thought," Anderson said, via the Denver Post. "I had some old injuries that bothered (me), I can't really say. I didn't know it was that serious until I felt it."

Anderson's struggles are one of the reasons why the Denver Broncos are getting linked to so many trade deals at the deadline. While nothing has been reported, speculation says Matt Forte and Vernon Davis should be options for the Broncos in order to give Manning extra help. Forte is an obvious choice given the Broncos have one of the worst rushing units in the league. The Chicago Bears star would be a huge upgrade over Anderson or Hillman and be an every-down back for the team.

According to Gil Brandt of NFL.com, Davis would also be a solid option as the tight end sits on the struggles San Francisco 49ers roster. The Broncos have yet to have a tight end do what Julius Thomas did last  season and while Davis has not been healthy, he could easily help contribute for the Broncos. The veteran would likely not cost the team much if they were to make a move.

According to the Denver Post, Hillman will start over Anderson while Owen Daniels and Emmanuel Sanders are healthy for the game against the Packers. The Broncos should have a full roster to work with as they put their undefeated record on the line with another Super Bowl contender.
