The Green Bay Packers are returning from a bye week in which they hope healed players as they are down several starters to injuries. Preparing for a key matchup against the Denver Broncos, the Packers are hoping to see the return of several wide receivers after opting to not make any additions to the roster during the break. While Davante Adams made his comeback to the field, Ty Montgomery remains out.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Adams came back to practice and is expected to play against the Broncos. Dealing with an ankle injury, Adams has been on and off the field due to the injury as he has missed the past three games. That has certainly put a strain on the offense and while the Packers are undefeated, Aaron Rodgers currently ranks 18th in passing yards simply because of a lack of deep threat targets with Jordy Nelson out.

"You want to have all your weapons, and Davante, like I said all through training camp, I thought he clearly was one of the young players that jumped out and you could see it in the OTAs," head coach Mike McCarthy said, via ESPN.com. "So yeah, it will be great to have him back out there."

The return of Adams is needed as Montgomery remains doubtful for the game. The wide receiver also suffered an ankle injury. According to ESPN.com, the MRI on the injury was negative which is good news for the long-term, but he still remains a question mark for the short-term. CBSSports.com is reporting that both Montgomery and James Starks were not at practice to start the week and might not play on Sunday. That would leave the Packers to rely on players like Jeff Janis to potentially fill the role at wide receiver.

The question the Packers need to answer quickly is whether or not they need to add a body to the roster for the long haul. With trade deals for Steve Smith and Roddy White denied, the Packers could look at Reggie Wayne or Hakeem Nicks for help on the field. Even if they do not play, having the depth and security would benefit Green Bay.

Green Bay is hopeful to have Randall Cobb at full strength as he deals with a shoulder injury. Eddie Royal is also expected to be fully healthy come time to face the Broncos. That at least bails Rodgers out a little, but the quarterback really needs Montgomery and Adams on the field.
