The MLB postseason has the World Series set after the Kansas City Royals advanced over the Toronto Blue Jays and now they will face the NY Mets for the 2015 championship. The Royals won over the Blue Jays in Game 6 of the ALCS to advance to play the Mets, who won over the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS.
The Blue Jays rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force Game 6, but the team could not win to stay alive and now the Royals will play in the World Series for the second straight season. The team won its second straight American League pennant with the win over the Blue Jays and now the Royals face the Mets in the World Series, which starts on Tuesday. The TV coverage for the Series will be on FOX for the championship.
The game between the Royals and Blue Jays on Friday night was a bank and forth affair, with Kansas City leading for most of the game before Toronto tied things up. A rain delay pushed things a bit and the Royals took the lead soon after and held on for the win to advance. The Royals went up early with home runs from Ben Zobrist and Mike Moustakas and later added another run with an RBI single from Alex Rios.
The Blue Jays pulled back with a two-run home run from Jose Bautista after Ben Revere got on base and that silenced the Kauffman Stadium crowd for a bit. A rain delay came up soon after and that messed around with the Royals and their bullpen plans. But it didn't end up meaning anything, as Lorenzo Cain got on base in the bottom of the eighth and the team drove him in with a hit from Eric Hosmer.
The Mets have the chance to set up their rotation for the World Series and they will start Matt Harvey in Game 1. The Mets will visit the Royals for the first two games of the series after the American League won the All-Star game. The Mets will host three games in the middle with Game 5 if necessary and the Royals will have Game 6 and game 7 at home.
