With the San Francisco 49ers falling once again as they suffered a loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7, names are beginning to surface with the trade deadline coming up. The 49ers will need to do something to rebuild in the offseason and getting rid of certain players now and not later could help. Vernon Davis is the first name to surface for San Francisco as several teams could take aim at the tight end.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Davis is not demanding a trade from the 49ers, but would welcome a deal if it came to him. The tight end is playing out the final year of his contract and the 49ers have made no movements to re-signing him. Injuries have been an issue as Davis lost his starting spot to Garrett Celek and Vance McDonald. With a $4.3 million base salary this season, Davis is an ideal pickup for a team needing another receiving weapon to work with.

The tight end market could be heating up in the next week. Head coach Jeff Fisher already took Jared Cook off the market saying the veteran is too valuable to the St. Louis Rams. That makes Davis the best available and a contending team could opt to pick him up in order to help the second half of the season.

The Green Bay Packers need another receiving option. According to FOX Sports, X-rays were negative on Ty Montgomery's ankle, but it is another injury on the books for the Packers. The team already lost Jordy Nelson while Randall Cobb and Davante Adams deal with issues as well. Adding Davis would at least give Green Bay some depth to work with.

The Carolina Panthers need to get Cam Newton more help. According to the Charlotte Observer, the Panthers could look at someone like Davis for help with Greg Olsen as Devin Funchess remains inconsistent on the year and Ted Ginn Jr is the only other quality option at the moment. The Panthers are undefeated on the season and adding Davis could help them stay that way.

San Francisco has two wins on the season. They are up against the Arizona Cardinals who are 4-2 and the Seattle Seahawks who are 3-4 on the year. Both of those teams are showing more potential to make a run late in the year than the 49ers. At this point, the team would be wise to try and at least get something in return for Davis who is their best trade option at the moment. That would get the team potentially a mid-round draft pick at best to work with in 2016.
