Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford warms up on the field before the start of their NFL football game against the Atlanta Falcons in Detroit, Michigan December 22, 2012. "

Dan Orlovsky was brought in for Matt Stafford after Stafford and the Lions struggled against the Arizona Cardinals and it came after the offensive line have had issues all game. The team is now 0-5 the Lions could be headed for a rebuilding year after not being able to run or pass the ball effectively at all this season.

Stafford completed 20 of 32 passes for 188 yards and had accuracy issues all day throwing 3 interceptions on the day. The Lions may want to preserve Stafford's confidence for next week but going 0-5 maybe be more than he can handle.

The Lions have struggled fully utilizing Ameer Abdullah, Theo Riddick, and Joique Bell behind this porous offensive line. Without a running game the Lions have struggled to get Calvin Johnson (one of the league's most dangerous weapons) the ball for 5 weeks in a row. Stafford currently has 6 touchdowns, 8 interceptions, and 7 sacks. The pressure on Stafford has affected his passing mechanics in ways that the Lions just could not predict.

That coupled with the decline of Calvin Johnson, a knee injury to Eric Ebron, and the sudden disappearance of Golden Tate statistically has crippled the Lions. The Lions are pretty much eliminated from post season contention however it is fairly early in the season; the Lions will need to win most of their remaining games to keep pace with the Packers in the NFC North.
