WNBA Finals Recap and Preview: Indiana Fever Win Over Minnesota Lynx Game 1, Series 1-0 For Game 2 Tuesday

The WNBA finals have started up and the Indiana Fever have a 1-0 series lead over the Minnesota Lynx and things will pick up in Game 2 on Tuesday. The series now has shifted home court to the Fever, as they were able to win 75-69 on the road to take the lead in the finals.

The Fever come in after winning in three games over the New York Liberty and now they are in good position to get another championship. The Fever got 17 points and six assists from Briann January in the victory and Marissa Coleman had 16 points in the game. This series is a rematch of the finals back in 2012 and that was the last time that Indiana won the championship.

The Lynx got strong performances from Sylvia Fowles and Maya Moore, who had a double with 27 points and 12 rebounds, while Fowles had 21 points and 11 rebounds. Minnesota missed a number of free throws and just couldn't keep the Fever back and now the team will have to find a way to rally in the series. The team has only lost two games at home in the playoffs and now they will have to go on the road to try and get a win.

Tamika Catchings has been an inspiration for the Fever and she finished with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists in the game. The Lynx have been one of the most dominant teams in the WNBA over the past few years and they are in their fourth finals series in the last five years and they are looking to get another championship. Game 2 will be on Tuesday and the game is on TV from ESPN2 and will be on the WatchESPN website as Minnesota hosts and tries to split the series at 1-1.
