The Green Bay Packers are hoping that Eddie Lacy can play in Week 3 against the Chiefs after suffering an ankle injury on Sunday against the Seahawks. James Starks is a fantasy football start option if Lacy can't go after missing practice this week, while Davante Adams is expected to play for Aaron Rodgers after also suffering an injury.

Lacy had x-rays on his injured ankle after the game on Sunday and while they came back negative, the team held him out of practice earlier in the week. According to ESPN.com, Rob Demovsky reports that both Lacy and Adams participated in some of practice on Friday, working out in individual drills. The Packers are hoping both players can play on Monday night and head coach Mike McCarthy said the team would wait and see how they progressed in practice.

According to Pro Football Talk, the team is hopeful that Lacy and Adams can play on Monday night, but there has been no official work on their statuses yet. Lacy was out of practice on Thursday and McCarthy said in his press conference that he hoped the extra day of rest for Monday night football would help Adams and Lacy recover in time to play. McCarthy also added that Lacy could play but be limited on Monday night if he is healthy enough to get on the field.

Lacy has only missed one game in two seasons with the Packers and McCarthy said that Lacy is savvy enough regarding the offensive scheme that he could miss out on some practice and game-planning and still play on Monday. Lacy comes in with 94 yards rushing this season and one touchdown through two games and last year he had 1139 yards while playing in all 16 games on the schedule for the Packers.

The Packers are confident in James Starks if the team has Lacy on the sidelines, as he has starting experience and he played well last week coming in for Lacy when the running back left with his injury. Starks had 95 yards in the game and the team can run their usual offense even with Lacy out. Losing Adams would be a big hit as well, but James Jones has been playing well and with Randall Cobb healthy the team still has some solid options at WR. Adams does not appear to be in serious danger of missing the game, but fantasy owners should keep an eye on the injury report leading into Monday.

The Packers are already without Jordy Nelson for the season and that puts more pressure on Adams, Cobb and James Jones for Rodgers. Adams being in the mix helps with depth and Jones has proven to be a solid fantasy option already for owners, as he has five catches this season, but three of them have been for TDs. Jones has shown a knack for finding the endzone and he previously set a career high back in 2012 with 14 touchdowns while playing with Rodgers.
