San Diego Chargers

Philip Rivers (Quarterback): Rivers had a very Matt Stafford like game, finishing the day with 35 completions on 42 targets, 404 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. All the good things Rivers did were taken away with those two picks however he still has better value than a handful of quarterbacks in any fantasy league. The Chargers are also going to pass a ton so his value should rise later in the season. Rivers should be a strong QB2 for this week.

Melvin Gordon/Danny Woodhead/ Branden Oliver (Running Back): Gordon underwhelmed again in week 1 finishing the game with 14 carries on 51 yards, with 3 catches for 16 yards and a costly fumble. The main star for the running game was Danny Woodhead. Woodhead finished the game with 6 red zone carries, 2 touchdowns, 12 rushes for 42 yards, and 4 catches for 20 yards. He was the Chargers rushing offense as Branden Oliver finished with 5 carries for 14 yards. Woodhead is a definite flex option this week and can be a RB2 in PPR leagues.

Stevie Johnson/Malcom Floyd/Keenan Allen (Wide Receiver): Stevie Johnson had one of the best performances that a wide receiver could have finishing 6/6 from the field for 82 yards and a touchdown. Johnson should be owned in all leagues and can make a solid case for a number 1 job in the Chargers offense. Keenan Allen dominated the deep ball finishing the game with 15 catches on 17 targets and ended with 166 yards. Malcom Floyd was at the end of the pack finishing with 1 catch on 2 targets for 29 yards.

Ladarius Green (Tight End): Green made the most out of his time on the field finishing the game 5/6 for 74 yards and a touchdown. Green is being groomed to be the eventual replacement for Antonio Gates however if Green can keep this pace up he may become the starter sooner rather than later. Green is a TE1 for this matchup.

Cincinnati Bengals

AJ Green (Wide Receiver): AJ Green finished the game catching 5/8 targets for 63 yards. Green was the second most targeted player in this offense which should be a cause for concern considering his second round draft status. Green played second fiddle to Tyler Eifert all night, he remains a low ceiling WR 1 for week 2.

Jeremy Hill/Giovani Bernard (Running Back): Hill and Bernard both ended up with 63 yards but it was Hill who got the goal line work rushing for 2 touchdowns. Bernard on the other hand ended the night with 6 catches on 6 targets so he could be in line to be a valuable PPR addition. Hill is a week 2 starter and RB1 while Bernard remains a flex, low ceiling RB2.

Tyler Eifert (Tight End): Eifert had an incredibly impressive day finishing 9/12 from the field with 104 yards, and 2 touchdowns. He was Dalton's go to player all day long. Eifert remains a TE1 for this matchup and could be in for a big season if this keeps up.
