The Denver Broncos are coming off of a sloppy win over the Baltimore Ravens in which Peyton Manning did not throw a touchdown pass.

Manning is on the decline and may have a few good games left in him but this defense is a tough nut to crack. Last year the Chiefs were swept by the Broncos, which is not surprising considering the amount of offensive power the Broncos had prior too Manning's decline.

Now the Broncos are going into Kansas City without, Julius Thomas, a healthy Demaryius Thomas, and a healthy CJ Anderson, now that is a test of offensive potency. Julius Thomas going to the Jaguars affected the Broncos offense in a way that can only be described as less .user friendly.

Thomas was a big target who Manning could use as his security blanket however Manning does not have that anymore. Let's not forget Gary Kubiak running the show behind the scenes, forcing the Broncos to really utilize their running game. This game will say a lot about Peyton's prospects for the remainder of the season.

The Chiefs on the other hand have been surging, resigning key defensive players and landing Jeremy Maclin in free agency. The Chiefs defense is disruptive and fast playing with more explosiveness than they had last year.

Alex Smith has already thrown a couple of touchdowns against the Texans and this offense looks poised to make some noise. The Chiefs also added cornerback Marcus Peters in the offseason along with welcoming the return of Eric Berry from the injury list. The Chiefs are looking poised to take the AFC West crown.
