Fantasy Previews for Week 1 of the NFL Regular Season: Cleveland Browns at New York Jets

Cleveland Browns

Duke Johnson/Isaiah Crowell (Running Back): Johnson is coming back from a concussion but was expected to be the lead back in the Browns offense. Crowell has gotten his carries because of this and will most likely be the lead back in week one. The Browns running game is something to be avoided however stashing Johnson for a mid-season run is a good option for deeper leagues.

Andrew Hawkins/Brian Hartline/Dwayne Bowe (Wide Receiver): The Browns wide receiving core is just as much a mess as their running game. Last season Hawkins made a splash early in the season and there is no way he will not be one of the main targets for this offense. Hartline had a solid role in Miami and should continue that role here as the most reliable receiver in this offense. Bowe has struggled everywhere he has gone and because of that he will need to earn the trust of an anemic Browns offense that has no time to be patient with him. Top guy here goes to Revis Island anyway, so just stay away from all 3.

New York Jets

Brandon Marshall (Wide Receiver): Marshall should make an instant impact since he will be the biggest receiver on the field. Marshall is a solid WR2.

Eric Decker (Wide Receiver): Decker will likely see some of his targets taken from Marshall but he will also take away the top coverage allowing Decker to make some plays down the field. Decker is a flex starter at best.

Chris Ivory (Running Back): The Browns defense has struggled mightily in preseason so he could be worth the start. Ivory still needs to prove he can be a durable every down back before he is considered a strong start. He will be an RB3 with RB2 upside.
