Kansas City Chiefs

Jamaal Charles (Running Back): Charles will have a hard time finding holes on this Texans defense but if anyone can it would be him. Charles is likely your first round pick so you have to start him, plus it remains to be seen if the Texans offense can give the defense an adequate enough time to rest in between possessions. Charles will be a RB1 with a below average matchup in week 1.

Jeremy Maclin (Wide Receiver): Maclin will be a factor early and often in this game as he will be the Chiefs primary wide receiver. Maclin should be a high end WR2 for this matchup as Kareem Jackson, the newly drafted Kevin Johnson, and Jonathan Joseph will be there in that secondary to cover Kansas City's biggest target.

Travis Kelce (Tight End): Kelce will be the 2nd target that quarterback Alex Smith looks too especially in red zone situations. Kelce made a name for himself last year being the only true target of Alex Smith, his targets will likely go down however he will still be a suitable TE1 in week 1.

Houston Texans

DeAndre Hopkins (Wide Receiver): Hopkins is a middling WR2 in this matchup as the Chiefs secondary is pretty solid. Hopkins will also be relying on passes thrown by Brian Hoyer so there really is no way of telling how this will go however he will get the necessary targets to be a factor.

Cecil Shorts (Wide Receiver): Shorts is the Texans 2nd offensive option in the passing game and should have an easier time in coverage. Hoyer and Shorts should develop some chemistry early as Shorts is less of a home run hitter and more of a possession guy in this offense. Shorts is a low end WR3 this week.

Alfred Blue (Running Back): Blue will get the start but he can be replaced easily by Polk and Grimes. This committee could see some touchdowns vultured from the starting running back and this defensive line is pretty tough. Alfred Blue is a solid sit this week.
