Colin Kaepernick (Quarterback): If Kaepernick were to have any sort of fantasy value, this would not be the year it would come into play. The 49ers are extremely thin on the offensive line and are looking like they could hit the bottom of their conference. The 49ers will also rely heavily on their ground game which will keep Kaepernick from scoring too many fantasy points.
Carlos Hyde (Running Back): Hyde will struggle mightily while running behind this offensive line. Hyde needs to break tackles better than we have seen in the preseason in order to gain some consistent fantasy points. Plus Hyde has Jarryd Hayne breathing down his neck and if he struggles early there could be a change made. Hyde is a low tier RB2.
Reggie Bush (Running Back): Reggie Bush will be the change of pace back as well as the passing down running back. Bush can catch the ball out of the backfield better than most of these backs so he will get a lot of chances to get some points. Bush is valued more highly in PPR leagues.
Kendall Hunter/Jarryd Hayne (Running Back): Both of these running backs will be backing up the starting group and should be their handcuffs if necessary. Hayne seems to be more of a pass catching running back however he has the toughness to be an every down back. After an explosive offseason it is hard not to love the former Rugby player as a potential fantasy sleeper.
Vernon Davis (Tight End): Vernon Davis was supposed to break out a couple of seasons ago, however has not made an impact at all from a fantasy perspective. Davis should be targeted more but is not worth the headache.
Torrey Smith (Wide Receiver): Smith is coming in to be Kaepernick's main wide receiver and there could be some points to be found in that. Smith should finish the year as a low level WR2 because this passing offense does not look good.
Anquan Boldin (Wide Receiver): Boldin has been a quiet, dependable WR3 for most fantasy owners. He should continue to have the same role however he is getting older.
