Fantasy Football Team Outlook San Diego Chargers: Phillip Rivers, Ladarius Green, Antonio Gates, Danny Woodhead, Branden Oliver

Melvin Gordon (Running Back): Melvin Gordon has been a soft runner in the preseason not really breaking off any big plays. Gordon was a favorite going into the 2015 NFL draft which is why his ADP is so high. Yes he has tremendous upside but from what has been seen it is questionable if he is worth a first round pick. Gordon is going in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts.

Danny Woodhead/ Branden Oliver (Running Back): Woodhead and Oliver have been the unsung heroes of the Chargers running game for some time now. Oliver particular has been a bruising every down back so it was surprising to see the Chargers take a running back with their pick when they have so many other areas of need. Oliver should be the change of pace back with Gordon leading the way and Woodhead will be the passing down back because of his talent out of the backfield.

Stevie Johnson/Keenan Allen (Wide Receiver): Phillip Rivers has said he wants these guys to be interchangeable so that is the role they will probably play. Think of the Falcons four or five season ago when Julio would go off one week and Roddy would the next that is most likely what will transpire here. I do believe Stevie Johnson should have the edge on targets as he might be a more talented wide receiver in this offense.

Ladarius Green (Tight End): Green has a major chance to step in as the main tight end of this offense. So far in preseason he has not taken advantage of his opportunities. Antonio Gates will be back after his four game suspension which will negate Green's fantasy relevance if he hasn't separated himself and turned into a play maker.

Phillip Rivers (Quarterback): Rivers is always one of the more reliable late round fantasy quarterbacks you can draft. Rivers should be able to put up consistent points on a week to week basis.
