The Delhi Daredevils and the Titans sealed semi-final spots in the Champions League T20 after the Auckland Aces suffered a 16-run defeat at the hands of the Perth Scorchers.
The Daredevils ended as Group A winners with 12 points while the Titans finished two points behind, with the other three teams - Scorchers, Aces and KKR ending their campaigns on six points.
Delhi will now face the Highveld Lions in the semis, with the other last-four game featuring Sydney Sixers and Titans - meaning only one of the four IPL teams made it into the knockout round.
In the first game at SuperSport Park in Centurion, the Scorchers, thanks to a couple of solid innings' from Marcus North and Paul Colingwood, notched up 140 in their 20 overs, with Michael Bates picking up an impressive four wickets for Auckland.
In reply, needing nothing short of a win, the Aces completely fell apart, ending up on 124 for eight in 20 overs, 16 runs short of Perth's total. Spinner Michael Beer, who opened the bowling, was the pick of the bowlers with three for 13 while while Joe Mennie chipped in with two wickets of his own.
Scorchers ended their campaign on six points, with the Kolkata Knight Riders and Aces also finishing with the same amount of points.
After the match, the Scorchers captain North revealed a little bit of dressing room unrest which, according to him, led to some below par performances in the tournament. "All I will say is that there are players that played today and players that didn't play today that let the team down in preparation last week," North said.
"Last week, against Delhi, there are players in our side that didn't reach the standards of preparations that we require from them. It was not the night before the game against Delhi, but our preparations for the Delhi game in Cape Town."
The Marsh brothers - Shaun and Mitchell - were left out, leading to suggestions the duo were among the culprits. However, North refused to give away any names, saying: "We brought 15 players over for this tournament, it was a dead rubber for us and we wanted to give those guys an opportunity to play in a big tournament like this.
"It's been a frustrating campaign for us. We had the Titans first, who were very hungry on their home patch. And then in Durban against Kolkata, very much on our way to posting a winning total. Rain came down with the Scorchers on 91 for two and they did not get back on the field.
"Against Delhi we came back against a side who have four players who have been international captains and are so good that David Warner can't even get a place. It was good to get a win today. Titans' Martin van Jaarsveld, who I played with at Glamorgan, came to me and said we should do them a favour and we did."
