The Washington Redskins are truly conflicted with what to do with franchise quarterback, Robert Griffin III.

The Redskins planned to start RGIII for the third preseason game after an awful showing in the week before. The Redskins offensive line just seemed to let RGIII get hit and even refused to help him up at the end of plays.

After Griffin suffered a head injury which was later ruled a concussion, he was told he still would be starting the next week if he passed his concussion test. Kirk Cousins played in RGIII's absence and wowed the coaching staff by throwing for 190 yards and a touchdown.

Jay Gruden's offense is clearly much more suited to Cousins and Colt McCoy's playing style then the RGIII and it appears the Redskins know it.

It has been announced that Kirk Cousins will be the starting quarterback for the 2015 season as RGIII has been benched. Gruden clarified why he was benched, as it was due to a performance issue not an injury. The Redskins now need to figure out what they are going to do with the embattled quarterback.

A trade is seemingly likely for a quarterback hungry team such as the Cardinals but if the Redskins cannot find a trade partner it is highly unlikely that RGIII is cut. The Redskins gave up a ridiculous bounty for this franchise quarterback and have not necessarily given him the tools to succeed, with this benching it is most likely the last time we will see RGIII lead the Redskins under center.
