Marcell Dareus has been asking for a new contract for a large portion of the offseason. He feels as if he has reached the $100 million mark as a defender the Bills however seem to disagree.

It might have to do with several on and off the field incidents Dareus has gotten involved in his career with the Bills. In December of 2013 he was benched for 2 straight games for violating team rules, in May 2014 he was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance.

In May of 2014 he was also charged with reckless endangerment following a car accident, and lastly in 2015 was suspended for the opening game of the regular season for violating the NFL's drug policy. Players with $100 million dollar contracts like JJ Watt do not do this. The Bills offer to Dareus is reportedly more than $90 million over the course of 6 years but Dareus has his own thoughts on the subject. Dareus recently stated

" It's just really making me unhappy, (in regards to the Bills offer) I feel like they don't really want me here. I feel like they don't want me here as bad as I want to be here, as bad as the fans and my team wants me here. I feel like they're saying, 'Whatever. You come a dime a dozen.' "

He added a hint to the contract he envisioned the Bills offering

"I'll just say, 'Thank you, Suh.' "

If there is one thing that is for sure Dareus is a talented player but I don't know if turning your nose up to a $90 million dollar offer is the smartest idea.
