The NY Knicks may look at a Jose Calderon trade for Jamal Crawford or Ricky Rubio this summer, as reports have New York interest in the Clippers guard, while the Timberwolves and Clips could have interest in Calderon and this comes as the Miami Heat and Cavaliers have also expressed interest in a deal for Crawford.

The Knicks basically have their roster set for camp, but reports have the team interested in making one more move before things are fully settled. According to Frank Isola at the New York Daily News, the Knicks have "expressed interest" in Crawford with the Clippers. Crawford is reportedly not happy with his role in Los Angeles after all the moves the Clippers have made and other teams have also shown interest in the guard, including the Miami Heat and the Cavaliers.

The Knicks could look at moving Jose Calderon in a trade for Crawford, as Pro Basketball Talk reports that the Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves could have interest in the point guard. According to Sportando, the Knicks also have interest in Rubio and Calderon could be an option to move to the Timberwolves if a deal happens. The Wolves have depth at point guard after signing Andre Miller and drafting Tyus Jones and they could cut some money with the move if they trade Rubio.

While Rubio has potential and is still young, he has never been able to get it fully together with his talent and injuries in Minnesota. The Wolves could look at moving Rubio for Calderon, who is signed through next season. Rubio's contract has him under team control until 2019 and it comes after the Knicks have had previous reported interest in Rubio dating back a couple years. The Knicks have Jerian Grant and Langston Galloway behind Calderon and the team may want a different option for a veteran on the roster and could move Calderon to make it happen.

Former NBA exec Bobby Marks wrote about the potential deal for Crawford and speculated that the Knicks would have to take back some salary if they traded Calderon to the Clippers. Marks writes that the Clippers may not want an extra year for Calderon and that the Knicks would need to bring on another player in the deal. That could push the Cavaliers or Heat to step up, as both have been connected to Crawford this summer. Miami has a point guard to move in Mario Chalmers along with big men in Chris Andersen and Josh McRoberts. The Cavaliers could try and move Anderson Varejao in a deal for Crawford and the team also has a trade exception.
