Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Arthur Jones (C), despite holding off Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Mitchell Schwartz (L), sacks Browns' quarterback Brandon Weeden (R) in the second half of their NFL football game in Baltimore September 15, 2013."

Thomas has never missed an NFL game/ play in his entire career and is an eight time pro bowler. Thomas was in an 11 on 11 scrimmage when the injury happened and a Browns defensive lineman rolled onto his leg causing Thomas to yell out in pain. Thomas was seen walking under his own power so this is seen as a positive sign. Linebacker Paul Kruger stated

''For sure, anytime guys go down, but there's cornerstone guys that you really need out there, and Joe has been an effective player for a long time and you want to take of those guys and make sure they're healthy. I'm hoping everything is OK.''

Any injury to Thomas would be devastating to the Brown's offensive line. Thomas is the only lineman ever to reach the pro bowl for 8 consecutive seasons so if he is gone for the season this could spell trouble for the Browns early on. The Browns are currently waiting on further tests on Thomas's knee and ankle to see exactly what his prognosis is. Center Alex Mack stated

"He'll be all right, I think," Mack said after the workout. "I'm anxious to find out, too."
