The Buffalo Bills opted not to trade up to someone like Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston this season despite the quarterback play of last year and so far things are much of the same as the franchise admits unhappiness with the current options at the position. Head coach Rex Ryan has yet to name a starting quarterback for Buffalo simply because no one has emerged as the best option. The team's disappointment in the quarterback rotation showed during a Saturday scrimmage which could force some trade talk.

Right now, the Bills are trying to decide between EJ Manuel, Matt Cassel, Tyrod Taylor and Matt Simms. According to NFL.com's Chris Wesseling, no one looked impressive during a team scrimmage. Manuel completed five-of-11 passes for 105 yards. Cassel recorded 27 yards while Taylor added 83 yards. No one reportedly looked impressive during the game which is a concern for the offense and could potentially force a trade.

While it is highly unlikely, there are options if the Bills get panicked. With Jameis Winston officially being named the starting quarterback, Mike Glennon could be up for grabs at the right price. According to MMQB.com's Andy Benoit, there are five or six teams that could show interest in Glennon, but it remains to be seen if the team will actually deal him before the season. The same can be said for Kirk Cousins or Colt McCoy as Washington moves on with Robert Griffin III. Matt Barkley could be an option as well depending on how he looks in the preseason.

The Bills have the offensive weapons that could make any quarterback successful, but with inconsistency at the position the players are struggling to make an impact. Sammy Watkins is having a quiet preseason thanks to injuries. The receiver insists that he is healthy, but continues to get held out of practice as he left team drills over the weekend due to soreness. Percy Harvin, Robert Woods and Charles Clay would all be fantasy football home runs if the Bills can improve their quarterback play. At the moment, the star of the team could be LeSean McCoy who came over in trade from the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Bills will be forced to rely heavily on the run game heading into the season. Ryan announced via NFL.com that Cassel will likely get the nod for the first preseason game, but that has no guarantees of repeating itself. While Watkins, Harvin and Woods are a dream trio, if the quarterbacks cannot get them the ball then they will simply go to waste.
