Cleveland Browns Barkevious Mingo
Barkevious Mingo (R) from Louisiana State University stands with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell after being selected by the Cleveland Browns as the sixth overall pick in the 2013 National Football League (NFL) Draft at Radio City Music Hall in New York, April 25."

Barkevious Mingo has suffered a slight tear in his meniscus which will require arthroscopic surgery to fix. This will keep Mingo on the sidelines for 3 to 4 weeks; prior to this injury Mingo was limited at minicamp after having shoulder surgery. Mingo is definitely banged up but he is still not a lock to miss week 1.  Mingo had this to say in the beginning of training camp,

"That's one of the main things the coaches this year harped on, they wanted to bring in more competition at the position. We brought in guys at every position to make sure that the best players play and you can't just make your way through practices. You have to compete and earn your job. That's going to help us.''

Mingo was the sixth overall pick in 2013 and has only 7 sacks in two seasons with the team. Scott Solomon and Armonty Bryant will take Mingo's reps in his absence. The Browns have emphasized that regardless of the pick you were drafted with the 11 best players will be on the field.  This only adds to the Brown's woes as most of their running backs are currently sitting out of training camp with injury including Terrance West and Duke Johnson.
