Jul 21, 2015 12:15 PM EDT

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Justin Hunter has been arrested on felonious assault allegations in Virginia. Hunter turned himself in to police on July 3rd

The alleged incident involved Hunter and another unnamed individual engaged in a bar fight that took place in Virginia Beach, Virginia at Sandbar Raw Bar. It is not known at this time if Sandbar Raw Bar had surveillance video of the incident. Hunter is being held without bond at this time. He allegedly stabbed, cut, or in general inflicted bodily harm with most likely a bottle or glass. The victim has suffered severe but not life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The 24 year old is originally from Virginia Beach, and the penalty for felony assault there is punishable by five to twenty years in prison. The NFL will likely take action against Hunter however it is more likely he will be released by the Titans before that happens. Hunter will be arraigned on Tuesday but this is not the first bump in the road for Hunter this off season.

The Titans have issued this statement "we are aware of the situation and are continuing to gather more facts". Earlier in the off season head coach of the Titans Ken Whisenhunt made a statement about Hunter, "at some point, you either get it, or you won't be in this league anymore. That's the natural order of the NFL".

Hunter has spent two seasons with the Titans and has only started 8 games. In 2013 Hunter only had 18 receptions, 354 yards, and 4 touchdowns. It was more of the same in 2014 were he had 28 receptions, 498 yards, and 3 touchdowns.
