Texans vs. Jets Predictions: Sanchez, Ryan Will Embarrass Themselves On Monday Night Football

Oct 08, 2012 02:23 PM EDT

The New York Jets host the best team in the NFL, Houston Texans, in Week 5's Monday Night Football game. Unfortunately for the Jets, they picked the wrong stage to play against a dominant force like the Texans and though not everybody paid attention to their Week 4 debacle, the Jets will now be exposed to the nation.

The Jets were destroyed 34-0 in Week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers. If the 49ers did it to the Jets, then imagine what the Texans can do.

These are the Texans defensive rankings in the league coming into Week 5: 2nd with 14 points allowed, 3rd with 273 total yards, 2nd with 182.8 passing yards and 10th allowing just 90.2 rushing yards per game.

The Texans weakness cannot be exploited by the Jets because they have one of the worst running games in the league. Their running game is almost non-existent rushing 86.5 yards per game, 26th in the league.

So Jets fans, do not even think about invoking Tebow's presence in this game. He can barely throw so his rushing options will be easily neutralized.

The Jets' offense is fifth worst in total yards (284) and passing yards (197) per game. Mark Sanchez is an average quarterback. The fact that the Jets have no quality targets now makes him a mediocre quarterback.

Yeah, the Texans have played weak teams early in their season, but guess what, the Jets will not do anything on Monday Night Football to change the Texans' defensive numbers.

Predictiing shutouts are almost impossible, but I would give the Jets offense at least 10 points . The matchup looks even more lopsided since the Jets have the second worst rushing defense in the NFL and facing the 7th best rushing team in the NFL.

Score prediction: Metlife Stadium saw a 41-point performance yesterday from Eli Manning and the New York Jets. They might get an encoure today, but from the visiting team.

41-10 Texans
