The Los Angeles Lakers have looked at a Nick Young trade this summer and with no major suitors emerging, there is a chance that Young does not get traded and this comes as LA may target free agents Kevin Seraphin, JaVale McGee or Tyler Hansbrough if Ryan Kelly or Robert Sacre are traded, while Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle and D'Angelo Russell have started the summer league and have looked good for the team.

The Lakers signed Lou Williams and added both Roy Hibbert and Brandon Bass this offseason, which had many thinking the team could move on from Young and his contract. According to Bill Oram of the Orange County Register, the Lakers currently have "no plans" to trade Young, as the trade market for the guard didn't "materialize" for the team this summer. Pro Basketball Talk reports that Young is staying in LA "for now," but that the team could pick back up on trade talks later this season or after the Summer League ends.

According to Marc Stein at ESPN.com, Kevin Seraphin is getting interest from the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards and Dallas Mavericks this offseason. Seraphin comes in after being a backup for the Wizards last season and he could be a bench option behind Roy Hibbert and Bass for the Lakers. The team also has Julius Randle and if Seraphin signs, he would likely be a reserve player. Randle has looked good in the Summer League and so have Russell Clarkson and all of those players could push to get heavy minutes this season if they continue playing well.

The Lakers were reportedly looking to ditch cap space to bring in Williams, Hibbert and Bass, but they were able to work things out without trading Young. Adding Williams on a deal could make Young redundant and that is one reason why he came up in trade talks. Young comes in after averaging 13 points per game last season in just 42 games and he is getting paid over $5 million in each of the next two seasons. Young has a player option for the following season and teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers could be potential options down the line for a deal.

The Cavaliers reportedly have been looking for perimeter offense and they have talked a Jamal Crawford trade and a Joe Johnson deal this offseason. Neither deal came close to happening for the Cavs and they could look at Young as an option later in the summer. The Cavs have an attractive trade chip in Brendan Haywood and according to the LA Times, the Lakers, Phoenix Suns and Clippers have all shown interest in Haywood. The contract for Haywood is unguaranteed until July 31 and that makes him a trade chip for teams looking to clear cap space like the Lakers.

The Lakers reportedly are willing to trade Sacre and Kelly this offseason, as Sam Amico reports that the team could use them to create cap space. Kelly comes in with a deal over $1 million, while Sacre has a vet deal but is on an expiring deal and the same goes for Kelly. The players could be trade targets because of that and the Lakers may continue to push Young after signing Williams.
