The New York Mets continue to struggle at the plate as they begin to wrap up their West Coast road trip. That prevent them from getting a win on Tuesday as Hunter Pence took them for two runs for the 3-0 win. The win ended San Francisco's seven-game losing streak while setting the Mets back looking for moment. They certainly hope Jacob deGrom can bring it back as he makes his final start before the All-Star break.
deGrom is 8-6 with a 2.30 ERA on the season and is preparing to make his All-Star debut this upcoming break, but first he needs to get past the Giants. The Mets recently were working with a 21-inning scoreless streak that was broken by Pence and deGrom wants it back. The pitcher had been on a roll until he met the Chicago Cubs who took him for more than three runs in a 6-1 loss. deGrom is 0-2 with a 6.46 ErA against the Cubs. However, against all other teams the pitcher is 17-10 with a 2.26 ERA. In his last outing against the Giants, he gave up two runs and four hits in seven innings while on his way of winning National League Rookie of the Year. The Giants recognize just how good her is.

San Francisco has struggled against deGrom as six players have combined to go 1 for 16 against the pitcher. The Giants will put Jake Peavy on the mound who is still finding his groove since returning from a back injury. He is currently 0-3 with a 6.43 ERA on the season. He is seeking his first win since last September while having a 3.45 ERA against the Mets. The Mets batting rotation might help the pitcher improve as the team has been shutout in three of their last eight games, totally up just 17 runs with a .210 batting average.
