The Miami Dolphins went heavy on offense in the draft this year and now DeVante Parker, Jay Ajayi and Tony Lippett could be solid contributors for Ryan Tannehill and the rest of the starters, as the team is deep with Jarvis Landry, Greg Jennings, Kenny Stills, Lamar Miller and Jordan Cameron on that side of the ball and this comes as the team hopes to sign Tannehill to a contract extension.

The Dolphins missed the playoffs last season and with Joe Philbin likely on the hot seat, the team has pressure to get back into the postseason. After adding Ndamukong Suh to anchor the defense the team added Parker and Ajayi and those two players could be strong contributors for Tannehill on offense. The Dolphins have had a decent amount of turnover on the offensive side of the roster, but the additions of Stills, Greg Jennings and the rookies could be enough in the AFC.

Tannehill is coming off of his best season in three years as a pro and the Dolphins are hoping that he can continue trending in that direction. According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins picked up the fifth year option on Tannehill, but they also are continuing to work on a contract extension for the quarterback. Earlier in the offseason reports had the team looking to sign Tannehill to a deal worth over $100 million for seven years.

Tannehill was a first round pick by the team and he set career highs in 2014 in passing yards, completion percentage and passing touchdowns. Tannehill had some changeover to his offense with Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline, Brandon Gibson and Knowshon Moreno not returning, but he has some solid depth for 2015 and the offense could potentially be better this season. Stills is young and he should be able to give Tannehill a safe option at wide receiver alongside Landry, who had a great rookie season, and Jennings, who has been solid for two seasons with the Vikings.

Lippett is a depth option and may play some cornerback, and Ajayi could give the Dolphins something they have been lacking over the past couple seasons: a consistent rushing game. Miller has been solid for the team during his career, but overall the past few years the Dolphins have not been the a good rushing offense. Miller has speed and can be the starting back ahead of Ajayi, but there is a good chance Ajayi gets a lot of playing time for Philbin. Ajayi is a dual threat and he put up some great numbers at Boise State and can be a receiver out of the backfield.

Miller rushed for nearly 1100 yards last season and Ajayi comes in after putting up 1823 yards on the ground and 50 receptions for another 500 yards receiving. Parker should also be able to add some explosiveness to the offense and he comes in with high expectations. Last season three rookies had over 1000 yards receiving and he will be expected to be in that range after getting taken in the first round out of Louisville.

The team also may consider a Dion Jordan trade, as he has been a major disappointment with the team and now is suspended for the 2015 season. Before the suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy Jordan was being shopped in a trade and he nearly was moved to the Eagles for a late round draft pick.
