Announcers say Sergio Martinez is the true Middleweight champion.

WELCOME TO LIVE COVERAGE/BLOG of Chavez Jr. vs. Martinez... Freddy Roach, Chavez Jr.'s trainer says he does not think Martinez has the experience.

----Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Sergio Martinez are 2 minutes away from stepping on to the ring-----

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will step into the ring to defend his WBCMiddleweight belt against Argentinian Sergio Martinez, the former champion of the world and owner of the belt.

They are set to meet in a UNLV arena that is sold out and the boxing fight starts at 9 p.m. ET.

For Chavez Jr., winning the fight means he gains the respect of many in the boxing world as he enters the match ranked No. 2 in the world in the Middleweight rankings. Chavez Jr., in Martinez's eyes does not deserve to defend the belt and does not belong on the same big stage as a champion.

Martinez, who is 37, had the belt stripped and Chavez Jr. went on to defeated Sebsation Zbik as the title looked for an owner. This is more than just as a boxing match with the Middleweight belt on the line. For Martinez this is personal.

"It is very simple. I cannot accept the fact he is world champion," Martinez said. "The only reason he is world champion is because he is Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the son of the legend, and his mouth is so big -- even bigger than his own brain -- and he's talking too much."

Chavez Jr. is the son of Mexican boxing legend, Julio Cesar Chavez who ruled the rings in the 1990's.
