The Philadelphia Eagles did not pull a Sam Bradford trade to try and get Marcus Mariota in the draft and moving forward this offseason, Chip Kelly could look at a trade with Matt Barkley, as the team has signed Tim Tebow as a free agent and he could take over as the third string quarterback and this comes after the team took Nelson Agholor in the first round of the draft.

The Eagles were mentioned in trade rumors leading into the draft regarding Marcus Mariota, but the team did not pull off that major move and instead picked Nelson Agholor in the first round. Kelly later said that the trade talk was overstated, but Peter King at the MMQB.com reported that the team did make inquiries about the first two picks in the draft. Now that the draft is over, the team may look at a trade with Barkley, as Tebow may take over as the third string quarterback.

According to Pro Football Talk, Barkley was placed on the trade block leading into the draft and after the team signed Tim Tebow, speculation ran that Barkley could get traded. Barkley was the third string quarterback last year behind Mark Sanchez and Nick Foles and he only threw one pass despite Foles missing half the season. Sanchez was signed back and Tebow was brought in and that means Barkley is likely done in Philly.

The team needs QBs for the summer and for offseason workouts with Sam Bradford rehabbing from injuries, but Barkley likely is not long for Philly now. Kelly likely did not sign Tebow for show and if he wants to use him this season, it means Barkley is out as the third string quarterback. Dianna Marie Russini reported earlier in the offseason that there was an "80 percent chance" Tebow becomes an Eagle and if that happened, Barkley would likely get moved.

Reports have the Eagles willing to take a late round pick for Barkley and the Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News reports that Barkley's hold on the number three job is "not secure" with Tebow on the roster. Earlier in the offseason the team talked with the Dolphins about a move, but they opted to bring in Josh Freeman over Barkley. Kelly signed Tebow after working him out and the way he uses players on offense it's much more likely Tebow sticks than Barkley.

Third string quarterbacks don't' do much, so Kelly has to weigh the importance of keeping both players on the roster. Kelly can use Tebow in situations more than Barkley, as he has a particular set of skills and that makes him more valuable than Barkley to this team. Nelson Agholor has signed his contract and he is in on a four year deal. Kelly said he loved Agholor's skills as a receiver and he likely will start for the team with Jordan Matthews.

The Eagles have been one of the most active teams in the league this offseason, adding Demarco Murray and Byron Maxwell in free agency, while trading for Sam Bradford and Kiko Alonso. The team also brought in Tim Tebow and now head coach Chip Kelly could consider another trade with third string quarterback Matt Barkley, as he may not have a clear role on team anymore.
