The Washington Redskins are reportedly considering trading down in the NFL draft and the Cleveland Browns could be a target for the team to do that if the pick is traded and the team could look at targeting names like Kevin White, Dante Fowler or Amari Cooper after they decided to pick up the fifth year option for RG3 at quarterback, likely making Robert Griffin III the starter.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Redskins have heavy interest in White and they could look at trading down if he is off the board when they pick. The report says that the team is looking to trade down and that they have spoken with teams about making a move. The team could be an option for Marcus Mariota if he slips in the draft, but right now that doesn't appear to be happening.

The Redskins picked up the fifth year option for Griffin and that was a major concern heading into the draft. The team was active in free agency this offseason and after flirting with names like Frank Gore, Jordan Cameron, Jermaine Gresham and Cecil Shorts, the team now has the draft to take care of things. There reports that the team was considering a Kirk Cousins in a trade out from behind Robert Griffin III, but that doesn't appear to be happening.

The Redskins just finished another season in the bottom of the NFC East and in 2015 they come in looking to bounce back. Jay Gruden took a ton of criticism this year, but he was brought back and the team added a smart man in GM Scot McCloughan. In his first press conference McCloughan spoke about using the draft to bring in talent and also that it's too soon to give up on RG3. Griffin had a terrible season last year and has been banged up for the last two and now he is going into his fourth year with tons of expectations.

The team decided on picking up the fifth year option for Griffin and that was a tough decision, as the option is a high salary for quarterbacks. Griffin stormed onto the scene as a rookie, but since then he has not been the same and now the Redskins may consider moving on if he fails again even after picking up the option. McCloughan likely will look at the free agent market for some more players and while the Redskins are not expected to spend big, they could be active with McCloughan at the helm after the draft on undrafted players.

Earlier in the offseason, CSN Bay Area reported that Frank Gore could be a prime target for the Redskins and now that he is with the Colts, the team could look at backs in the draft. The report said that McCloughan praised Gore a ton in the past and was the man who drafted him in San Francisco. The Redskins have a need at running back, as Alfred Morris has been used a ton over the past two seasons and Roy Helu is in Oakland.
