Serena Williams defeated Victoria Azarenka in three sets 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 at the U.S. Open 2012. She won the Women's Singles and defeated the No. 1 ranked player in the world.

With the victory, Williams captured her fourth U.S. Open Grand Slam title and fourteenth title in her career.

This one was a tough one and it was surprising since nobody had seen Williams struggle in a tennis match in a while.

She started this one out on fire though, taking the first set 6-2.

In the second set, however, Serena was not herself. Her backhand was not falling. Her first serves were not landing either and because of this, Azarenka was able to establish herself in the set and get back into the match.

She tied the set and forced the match to a third set.

Serena Williams battled back in the third set, despite Azarenka taking a 5-3 lead late in the final and decisive set. Serena went on to win the next four games. She won the 9th game with a backhand and made it a 5-4 match. She broke Azarenka's set to make it a 5-5 match.

Williams then won the the 10th game and broke Azarenka's serve.

After winning the last game, Williams threw herself on the floor and ran to the net to congratulate Azarenka after a well played match.
