The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may consider a Mike Glennon trade this offseason if the team takes Jameis Winston in the NFL draft and if that happens, teams like the Cleveland Browns, NY Jets and Buffalo Bills could be interested in acquiring the young quarterback.

Glennon has been mentioned in trade rumors since last year, but with the Buccaneers likely taking Winston in the draft, the talk has started to gain traction. According to ESPN Bucs reporter Pat Yasinskas, the Buccaneers may shop Glennon after the NFL draft and this comes as he has "generated trade interest" around the league. Jeremy Fowler at ESPN reported earlier in the offseason that the Browns were interested, while the Bills and Jets also could be potential fits.

Winston is the presumptive number one pick and that leaves Marcus Mariota for the Titans or a team that trades up to draft him. According to Adam Schefter, the Browns, Jets, Bears and Eagles are all interested in Mariota and some of those teams could look at Glennon if they miss out. The Browns have had interest before and Mike Francesa said the Jets would be wise to look into Glennon.

While Mariota could be great, he will cost some significant draft picks and Francesa writes that Todd Bowles and Mike Maccagnan may not want to put all their eggs in an uncertain basket. Although Glennon did not have the hype that Mariota has when he came out of college, he has played fairly well in his chances on the field and he likely would cost a third or fourth round pick and many a late selection.

If the Jets are considering Mariota but don't want to trade up to number two, Glennon could be a solid plan B, as they could take an impact player at pick six and then trade a later pick for Glennon. The Browns are a potential landing spot with Johnny Manziel's future uncertain and the Bills also have a talent void at QB. Matt Cassel is fine, but he is not a franchise player, while EJ Manuel still needs time to develop a bit before he can be a consistent starter.

Glennon played in six games last season and had 1417 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions. While those numbers are not amazing, he has shown over two seasons that he can be a competent starter with 29 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. That is a solid ratio when looking at young players and Glennon still has not yet had a full season starting in the NFL.

Yasinskas writes that there have been teams calling in about Glennon and that if the Buccaneers trade him, it will likely be after the draft and not before or during. The team wants Winston, but nothing is certain yet and there is a chance they could take Mariota over the Florida State star, although no major media outlets are reporting that yet.
