The Miami Dolphins have met with Michael Crabtree and Greg Jennings in free agency this offseason and now Wes Welker is coming in for a free agent visit and he could be an option to join Ryan Tannehill and this comes as the team may target names like DeVante Parker, Todd Gurley, Kevin White and Jaelen Strong in the NFL draft.

The Dolphins were one of the most active teams this offseason and that will put pressure on them to get into the playoffs in 2015. After signing Ndamukong Suh the team also traded for Kenny Stills and got rid of Mike Wallace and now they may want some more depth at wide receiver. According to the Miami Herald, free agent Wes Welker is visiting with the team this week and it comes as he has not had much buzz on the free agent market.

Welker was with the Broncos and he previously played for the Dolphins before he ended up with the New England Patriots. Greg Jennings also visited with the team and Pro Football Talk reports that he left Miami without signing a contract. The Miami Herald reported that there is interest on both sides and that there is interest "down the road" for a deal to get done. Jennings has also met with the Carolina Panthers and has been targeted by the Jaguars. There is a chance Jennings and Michael Crabtree wait until after the draft to sign.

The Dolphins also met with Michael Crabtree this offseason, but the two could not agree on a deal. According to Pro Football Talk, Crabtree was seeking at least $4 million for a contract, but the Dolphins offered around $2 million and that could lead to Crabtree signing elsewhere. The Redskins, 49ers and Raiders have shown interest in Crabtree and he has visited with Oakland.

The Dolphins have reshaped their roster this offseason and the wide receiver position could use some depth after the trade of Wallace. The Dolphins also released Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson this offseason and while Jarvis Landry is coming back after a strong rookie season, Tannehill needs more weapons. The Dolphins traded for Kenny Stills and they also have Rishard Matthews, but adding a veteran or two wouldn't be the worst idea for depth.

Tannehill is coming off of his best season in three years and the Dolphins want him to keep trending in that direction. Welker is 34 years old and he dealt with concussion issues last season, but he could be a cheap option to come in and play as a third or fourth receiver. The Dolphins are reportedly targeting DeVante Parker in the first round of the draft and other names like Philip Dorsett and Ty Montgomery could be potential options.

Welker had a down season in 2014 with just 49 catches for 464 yards while playing in 14 games, but in the past he has been wildly productive. Those days are likely long gone, but Welker could still be a solid option for the Dolphins. Welker was with the team for three years in 2004-2006 and after that he broke out big with the Patriots, putting up a number of seasons with over 100 catches.
