Robert Griffin III has heard plenty of criticism over the past year as the quarterback has yet to truly meet expectations since getting draft out of Baylor after winning the Heisman trophy. While Griffin continue to struggle being productive and injury free, his relationship with coaches has come under fire as well. Griffin and Mike Shanahan did not see eye to eye and the quarterback is denying the same type of issue with Jay Gruden.

Griffin stressed to the media that he intends to work hard with Gruden to be successful with the Redskins as many begin to speculate that his future is in jeopardy. When asked if his relationship with Gruden was strained during last year's dismal season, Griffin simply said it is not his place to judge.

"We both want to win," Griffin said, via CSN Washington. "Jay came in here with the plan to help develop me as a quarterback, and help this team win. He wants me to go out there and be the quarterback he knows I can be, and I will be. My job is not to characterize or judge him as a coach. We're going to make sure we work together in a positive way to make sure this team is successful. We're going to win. That's all we can do."

Gruden has been very vocal in stressing that Griffin must improve in 2015 if he intends to stick around in Washington. Entering the final year of his contract, Griffin has yet to be in talks about a potential extension while the Redskins must decide whether or not to pick up a fifth-year option. According NBC Washington, the franchise is comfortable with letting Griffin enter that last year of his deal and audition for a new contract.

Meanwhile, the Redskins are doing their due diligence on exploring other quarterback options. According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, the Redskins have brought in Marcus Mariota for a visit. Drafting a No. 5 means they could potentially land the former Oregon star if no one trades up to No. 2 to get him. However, that appears unlikely which could have Washington eyeing players like Brett Hundley or Bryce Petty instead. With Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy also on the roster, the Redskins have flexibility, but they are limited on options for the future.
