The Miami Dolphins have the chance to take a solid player in the first round of the draft this season and names like DeVante Parker, Kevin White and Breshad Perriman could be options and this comes as the team has met with Stevan Ridley and he could be a free agent pickup over the return of Knowshon Moreno for Ryan Tannehill.

The Dolphins are coming into the 2015 season with high expectations and that makes their first round ick even more important than usual. The team was very active in the offseason and the front office is putting pressure on Joe Philbin to finally make the playoffs. Ryan Tannehill is coming off of his best season and with Ndamukong Suh now in South Beach on a record contract, it appears to be postseason or bust for the Dolphins.

According to ESPN.com, reporter James Walker writes that the Dolphins have hosted DeVante Parker on a draft visit and they are also interested in Kevin White, TJ Yeldon, Jaelen Strong, Randy Gregory and Amari Cooper, although they do not expect Cooper to be available at the number 14 pick. Walker writes that the Dolphins may take the best player on the board if their top choices at the pick are gone, as Parker, White and Strong all could go in the top 13 picks.

The wide receiver position is an area of need and the team may also look at running backs. Walker writes that with changeover at WR and depth at RB still needed, the Dolphins could focus on those positions early in the draft. The Dolphins released both Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson last season and they also traded Mike Wallace to the Vikings. The team returns Jarvis Landry after a strong rookie season and they acquired Kenny Stills in a trade to join Rishard Matthews on the roster.

Perriman is an intriguing option, as he put up a great 40-time and is quickly moving up draft boards. Perriman played at UCF last season and he is one of the fastest receivers in the draft this year. Last season Perriman had over 1000 yards with 50 receptions for the Knights and he has shown a big play ability while in college, making 16 touchdown receptions in 39 games at Central Florida.

Strong could be an option if the other receivers are off the board, as he comes in after putting up great numbers in two seasons with Arizona State. Strong had 17 touchdowns in 26 games played and this comes as the Dolphins have also sniffed around some free agents, with both Stevan Ridley and Michael Crabtree have come in for visits with the team. Melvin Gordon could be an option fi the team doesn't add Ridley, as they would like more depth with Lamar Miller as the starter.

Walker writes that Gregory could be a potential option despite his failed test at the combine for weed. Walker writes that Gregory likely would be a top five to top 10 pick without that issue and if he slips out of the first 10 picks, the Dolphins could look at it as getting a very talented player lower than he should be. Gregory could be a force with Suh and Cameron wake on defense.
