Apr 02, 2015 08:24 PM EDT

The Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers are playing live on the NBA schedule on Thursday and the game on TNT is on at 8 pm ET from Quicken Loans Arena as LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love take on Dwyane Wade and it comes as the playoffs are getting closer for the Cavs and they are in second position in the eastern conference.

Cleveland is coming into the game playing well and their last loss was against the Nets and that came before winning against the Sixers. The Cavaliers won four games in a row and before that the team lost to Miami on the road and they now have won four of the last five games coming into this matchup. The Cavs have a three game lead over the Bulls in the central division and they could lock in the second seed with a strong run coming up here.

James is leading the Cavs in scoring and rebounds this season and the team has been very strong at home. Miami actually is winning the season series right now, but the Cavs have been fantastic in Cleveland. The team has only lost nine games at home and now they have the chance to give back the favor after the team lost to Miami the last time the teams played. Miami is in the playoffs right now, but they have teams right behind them with the Nets, Celtics and Pacers chasing.

The Miami Heat are leading the season series this year and they have two wins in three games and those matchups were in South Beach. The Cavs won the last time the teams played and that was a big win in Cleveland and now they will go at it again. These teams could meet in the playoffs and that would be very cool after all that James did for Miami, although the fans there probably would boo him, which is not really cool, but whatever.

The Cavaliers have been one of the best teams in the NBA during the second half of the season and they previously had a long winning streak with 16 games at home. The team has been one of the best at home in the league and they will be favored in the matchup on Thursday. Wade has played well against the Cavs, averaging over 30 points in the two matchups he has played against James and Cleveland. The Cavs have the look of a contender and with Love getting more into the offense with James and Irving, they will be a hard team to beat this spring in the east.
